This is a full classical ballet technique class that includes barre, center and across-the-floor movements. Classes focus on proper technique, alignment of the torso and correct performance of arm movements. Ballet provides an excellent full-body workout incorporating stretching and core work with ballet movements. Ballet technique integrates elements of strength and flexibility along with conditioning. Ballet promotes body awareness to improve posture and balance. The class is taught as a Level A class for teens and adults.
This class is perfect for older children who did not take ballet at a younger age and would like to learn ballet for fun or to improve their technique for dance competitions they compete in. This class will prepare the dancer for Level B.
The class is for adults who danced previously danced or always wanted to dance. It will prepare the adult dancer for Level B. The class is for adults of any age. Older adult dancers are able to modify movements and improve at their own pace. Please inform us of any physical limitations you have. It is recommended you attend weekly for best results. Regular adult classes are offered all year on Monday evening from 7:15 – 8:30 and do not follow the academic calendar.
